404-Like Content: How To Fix It?

I know that Google simply hates duplicate content and penalize websites heavily because of this. One of my websites is a database website where some pages are very similar.

Seems like Google is returning soft 404 errors for this:

This is the first time any of my websites have returned this error and it worries me! There is one important page that is included in this error list and it seems it has been de-listed from the Google index. It was showing up on the first page before. I have changed the page around but Google has not picked it up yet.

Here’s what I plan to do.

I will change as many of these pages around as I can. For many pages, they are automatically generating when I add something to my database list so I will put a code in so Google won’t index those pages. I rather have less pages indexed than have a bunch of 404-like content errors. Of course Google will take time to update these pages. If anything happens meanwhile, I’ll be back on to update this post.

If you have experience 404-like content errors, please comment on how you’re fixing them or if your site was penalized.

UPDATE: I went ahead and added a robots.txt file disallowing indexing of one of my website directories. This should eliminate many future 404-like content pages because this was the directory it was held in. I will keep updating with results as they come.

How a Balanced Life Brings More Success

First, let’s define what I mean by a balanced life. It doesn’t mean spending an equal amount of time at work and at home. Sometimes, doing that can be impossible. What I mean by balanced life is having every part of your life under control. Why is this important?

For my example, I’m going to use the corporate world. Most big companies are broken up into different departments. There’s accounting, human resources, legal, and so on. When all these departments work efficiently together, then they produce impressive results. It leads the company to strong growth and success.

Your life is the same way. Instead of departments you have a number of areas in your life.You have the finances, career, family, health and so on. To lead yourself to strong growth and success, you need to make sure that all these areas are under control. When you are successful in all these areas, then your WHOLE life is a success. If you’re struggling in one area, then that struggle might bleed over to another area of your life and ruin it.

Let me demonstrate to you what I mean. There was a survey done a while back that showed 57% of divorces were because of financial reasons. Money problems (one area of your life) led to relationship problems(another area of your life). Also, take this example. You have a huge fight with your husband or wife tonight and you two stay up all night arguing. The next morning you have work and are feeling exhausted at perform poorly at work. See how relationship problems affect your career?

To have your whole life be a success, you need to balance things out. When you balance your life, things run smooth. You’re able to look at every area of your life and be happy about it. This leads to more and more success. It’s a snowball effect. It keeps building and building.

Make a list of every area in your life and make a plan to get everything under control. If you’re having money problems, figure out a way to make more money or save more money. If you’re out of shape, put on some running shoes and get to work. If your relationships a disaster, sit down and talk about where things are going and what you two need to do to fix it.

A balanced life brings more success. There is no doubt about it. Don’t think you can be truly happy being successful in only one area of your life. If you do that, that happiness won’t last. It will be a feeling that comes and goes and is hard to keep around forever. When your whole life is a success, then happiness comes and stays with you. It becomes a state of mind rather than just an emotion.

Create Your Life

Life works two ways. You either let life create you or you create your life. It’s a question of are you in control or are you being controlled?

Your life is in your hands. Who you are is completely up to you. Break out of the habit of letting other people tell you who you are. That’s not the way it’s supposed to be.

When you need answers, turn to yourself. Only you can tell yourself what you’re capable of and what you’re not. You set your limits and you can also break your limits. Don’t be a victim to letting the world create who you are. The world is full of possibilities but you have to believe in yourself.

With faith comes freedom. The freedom to choose your life, the freedom to expand your knowledge, and the freedom to break through others opinions.

If you’re told over and over that you’re not smart. That you can’t do it. That you will amount to nothing….then what happens? You start to believe it and that’s who you become. Joe Girard’s dad beat him everyday telling him this same exact thing. He started to believe it and went down the wrong path until one day he turned to himself for answers and support. That day he broke through his limits and went on the become the World’s Greatest Salesman (Guinness Book of Records).

You see, life shouldn’t be about letting the outside create who you are on the inside. Life should be about letting who you are on the inside create what you have on the outside. Warren Buffet said he knew he was going to be rich before he became a billionaire. He said this because of who he was on the inside, and that created what he has on the outside today. You can do the same. Believe in yourself and create the life you’re meant to live.

You deserve the best. There is nothing stopping you at all. The longer you procrastinate…the longer you dream without taking action…the longer you listen and see with your eyes instead of following your heart…the more you hurt yourself and your future. Take the steps today to guarantee success for tomorrow. Take life by the horns and guide it in the direction you want.

Feel empowered. Feel great. Life is not meant to be hard. We only make it hard. You are a creator…the greatest creator in the world. Because without you, life wouldn’t be possible at all. Think about that one. There’s powerful meaning behind it.
