Yesterday I started the Embrace Your Power Challenge. So far so good! One thing I noticed right off the bat is that if we want to accomplish BIG things and stay productive throughout the whole day, we need to have energy. We actually need lots of energy!
I woke up feeling a bit tired today, but I didn’t let that stop me. Here’s some ways I boosted my energy levels to have a productive day. I’ve also included other tips to get more energy in your life.
Get more energy through emotions
Bringing out strong emotions increases your energy.
Imagine this: You’re watching T.V. and ready to fall asleep on the sofa because you’re so tired…and then all of a sudden breaking news comes on and you realize you’ve won a hundred million dollars! What would happen to your energy levels at the point? It would skyrocket, right? Your powerful emotions will make you jump up and down and you’ll completely forget how tired you are. Emotions are the key to boosting your energy!
When you need more energy, imagine something to bring out strong emotions. It could be getting the new car you want or something that happened where you felt incredible. Feel those emotions like its real and watch your energy level increase. It really works wonders!

Breathe deep for energy
Do you know why we start yawning? It’s because our brain isn’t getting enough oxygen.
Take time out every hour or so to take deep breaths. Breathe deep through your nose, hold it in for a few seconds and let it out through your mouth. Breathing properly not only rejuvenates the brain, it also does the same for your muscles and organs.
Water is the energy of life
8 glasses of water a day is what experts recommend. Most of us aren’t even getting half of that! Water is the key to life and it’s very important if you want more energy.
Start by drinking one more glass a day than you usually drink. So if you drink zero right now, drink one today. Then two tomorrow and three the next day until you get to 8 glasses a day. And 8 glasses equals 64 oz (typically 4 average size water bottles).
Not getting enough water can also cause headaches.
Sleeping re-energizes us
Not getting enough rest might be why your energy levels are low at times. The rest we get is related to how much energy we have. Experts in this subject recommend 7-9 hours of sleep a day.
Here’s what’s interesting that some of us might not know. Now I’m not an expert myself, but I know we have 5 different stages of sleep. The first stages are “light” sleep and the last stages are “deep” sleep. We usually cycle through all 5 stages in 90 minutes and then start it all over again. When we wake up during light sleep, we wake up feeling refreshed and good. Waking up during deep sleep makes us feel tired and groggy. Try to time your sleep for 7 and a half or 9 hours so you wake up during light sleep and wake up with lots of energy.
Use you body to get energy
Exercising on a regular basis can give us the extra energy we’ve been craving. It pushes blood throughout our whole body and brain. It helps us stand up straight and breathe in clearer and deeper. With the extra oxygen and bloodflow, we release tons of energy that’s been buried within us.
Weighlifting and cardio are great ways to boost your energy. Try it for a month and you’ll notice a HUGE difference in your life. If you want more energy, you need to exercise a regular habit.
Music and energy
Music has so much energy in it. It’s great for pumping us up and giving us more energy. Listen to it loud, listen it to it hard! Sing with it. Dance with it. Feel the music.
Some might be better at doing this than others but you can get good with enough practice. Just focus on the music and be in the zone. It will take your mind off being tired and help you absorb the energy from the music to use in your own life.
Eat the right stuff
Eat natural things like fruits and vegetables (spinach is great). What we put in our body determines our energy levels. Stay away for fried or junk foods. It makes us tired and lazy. Also, don’t eat huge meals all at once. Spread it out into 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day. Our body uses massive energy to digest food so if we eat too much, there goes all our energy.
Focus on getting more energy.
When we’re tired, we focus on how tired we are. Instead shift your focus and intentions on attaining more energy. Apply the knowledge from this article. If you keep thinking about how tired you are, you won’t look forward to your day.

Great post! Just what I needed today!
Excellent!
Excellent article, and I agree on all.
With emotions it helps to acknowledge where they come from, and also to express them in a healthy manner and put the energy to a good use, whether it be through creativity or some other form of activity.
That’s a good point actually. We should use the extra energy we get towards something positive and creative.
